The Camrose Trophy

Can be seen on RealBridge this Weekend

This is a quick post to let you know that you can watch the the first round of the Camrose Trophy on Real Bridge this weekend.

The Camrose Tropy or just 'The Camrose' is a bridge competition between teams representing the home nations of Great Britain and Ireland. There are 5 such teams: England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland but playing pair-wise matches would only involve 4 teams at a time. The nations therefore take turns to enters two teams and the extra team is called by the name of the relevant Federation. This year we have England and the EBU for example. The trophy is determined by the results of two round-robin events, the first of which is taking place this weekend in Newport, Wales.

In the past you may have 'watched' such events on VuGraph from Bridge Base Online but this year it is being shown pseudo-live on RealBridge. I say pseudo-live because the transmission will be delayed by 30 minutes as a security measure.

To watch the promotional video on Facebook see https://fb.watch/pmCC4Q6SCC The video promises an expert comentary but does not say who will be providing it.

For session times see: https://realbridge.online/camrose-2024.html Sessions actually start at 7:00 p.m. tonight (Friday 5th January) so delayed transmissions should start at 7:30 p.m.. Sessions can run for up to 2 hours and 10 minutes. Transmission of tonight's second session should start at 9:55 p.m.
